Flight Path
The Flight Path Program (FPP) provides a solid foundation for children, referees, and coaches of all genders in 2 age groups: under 10s for club-based competition; and under 8s for participation-based learning.
With qualified coaches and resources provided by the SBA Basketball Development Officer, the program ensures children develop better fundamentals and have a smooth transition into older Junior Jets age groups.

In the first 2 weeks of each season, we will have sign-on days and come-and-try days. If your child wants to register for a trial or you'd like to coach please email bom@sunburybasketball.com.au
Key features of Flight Path Program

No previous playing experience is required.

All genders are encouraged to play - If numbers are low mixed teams will train and play together.

Weekly sessions include 40min training and a 45min game

Structured for players to have fun while learning skills and playing competitive games.

The program will be overseen by the SBA Basketball Operations Manager (BOM).

Parents are encouraged to learn and participate alongside the coaches.

Size 5 basketballs are used across all programs.

Parents will be given a PlayHQ link for weekly fixtures each season once their child is registered.

2 seasons per year: Summer (Term 4 & 1) - Winter (Term 2 & 3)

Age groups are based on what age your child is on the 31st of December.

U8 Sunbury & Gisborne
The U8 Flight Path Program provides a fun and engaging introduction to basketball for young children. Participants will receive high-quality coaching from our experienced SBA coaches and will be given a Flight Path singlet to play in.
This program includes a training session followed by a game and utilizes an 8-foot hoop and modified rules to further develop fundamental skills.
The program is overseen by the SBA Basketball Operations Manager and costs $230 per season.
Sunbury U8's
Wednesdays 4:45pm - 6:00pm

U10 Sunbury & Gisborne
The U10 Flight Path Program uses a 10-foot hoop and has a structured schedule with training and game timeslots. As this is club-level play, each team must provide their own coaches in order to train and play. The cost for the program is $230 plus club uniform costs per season.
Sunbury U10
The Sunbury Program runs on Tuesdays and is a club-based competition with 7 Sunbury clubs represented.
4:30pm - 5:15pm: Training for teams playing Game #1 (5:15pm)
5:15pm - 6:00pm: Game #1; Training for teams playing at Game #2 (6:00pm)
6:00pm - 6:45pm: Game #2
Players are only required to be present for their training and game timeslot (not the full duration)

Gisborne U10
The Gisborne program runs on Saturdays and is also club-based with 3 Macedon Ranges/ Sunbury clubs, limited to 40 players total in the program. This is a BOYS ONLY session.
